Sitech Chairman Zhao Xin Speaks at Xizang Minzu University: On the "Foundation" of Power Safety and the "Path" of Green Transition

On November 18, Sitech Chairman Zhao Xin was invited to Xizang Minzu University as the keynote speaker for the 22nd session of the university's "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Lecture Series." Under the theme "Focusing on the Foundation, Upholding Integrity While Innovating: Becoming a Determined Light-Chaser," he delivered an in-depth industry lecture to faculty and students, addressing energy transformation in the context of plateau-specific scenarios.

01 On Development: Decoding the Enterprise's Growth Journey

As a business leader shaped by international experience, Zhao Xin systematically reviewed Sitech's nearly 20-year growth from "zero to scale." The company began by leveraging partnerships to enter the grid intelligence sector, later building a national smart operation and maintenance platform to strengthen its technological foundation. Today, Sitech focuses on integrated energy digitalization solutions while accelerating its global presence. He emphasized that "focusing on the foundation" means upholding power safety and public welfare, while "upholding integrity" involves staying committed to energy transition and "dual-carbon" goals—all innovation stems from and serves these principles.
Zhao Xin noted that "focusing on the foundation and upholding integrity while innovating" is not only traditional wisdom but also a methodology for the power industry's development. Citing examples from Xizang's grid development, he explained that the "foundation" is the commitment to grid safety, while the "path" points toward green development. Innovation, in this context, means achieving targeted breakthroughs—such as developing smart inspection equipment for extreme environments or designing microgrids tailored to local conditions.
02 On the Future: Inspiring Careers for Young Talent

Aligned with the university's mission of serving plateau and border regions, Zhao Xin outlined a promising career landscape in the energy sector for students. He analyzed opportunities arising from major projects like the hydropower development in the lower Yarlung Tsangpo River—an "engine for growth"—and the expanding clean energy bases and grid infrastructure in Xizang, which offer broad employment prospects for local students.
Beyond corporate strategy, Zhao Xin shared insights as an industry pioneer, advocating a "long-term mindset" in career growth. He encouraged students to build deep foundations like bamboo roots—choosing a career path early, strengthening core skills during employment, and expanding their value and impact in later stages. He emphasized that personal growth, much like corporate success, requires adapting to trends, continuously updating knowledge, and building distinctive value. He urged students to move beyond passive learning and become problem-solvers in their hometowns' energy development and contributors to national dual-carbon goals.
During the interactive session, students asked questions about academic directions and career choices. Drawing on industry practices such as microgrid development and virtual power plant implementation, Zhao Xin provided clear guidance, earning enthusiastic responses from the audience.
03 Moving Forward with Innovation, Winning Through Collaboration
Looking ahead, Sitech will deepen university-industry collaboration, fostering an integrated ecosystem for education, research, and application. By focusing on key technologies for energy transition, Sitech aims to support the development of a new generation of capable and visionary talent to serve national dual-carbon strategies.
